Our Favorite Gelatin Powder Recipes
How do I use it?
Gelatin is easy to use, and it can be used in so many different ways. We’ve compiled some of our favorite recipes with gelatin including healthy gummies, jellos, and other desserts. Click here to learn more about gelatin and to get the recipes.
Are there any side effects?
No known side effects have been reported. We recommend taking gelatin with food in order to prevent any intestinal discomfort that may occur.
How long will it be before I see results?
Collagen and gelatin begin restoring and repairing skin, bones, joints, ligaments and your gut immediately. Clinical trials have shown visible improvements after four to twelve weeks of supplementation, depending on the study and the benefit being measured. However, one should take collagen peptides and/or gelatin indefinitely to combat aging because our body produces less and less collagen every year. Supplementing with collagen or gelatin is not a temporary fix, it’s a lifelong dedication to better health from the inside out.
I eat a lot of protein/meat. Do I still need to take collagen or gelatin?
Yes! Western diets are mainly composed of eating muscle-meat proteins instead of connective tissue proteins which are rich in collagen. Supplementing with collagen and/or gelatin protein can help to repair our connective tissues, ligaments, joints, skin, hair, nails, teeth, and bones.
How is gelatin different from collagen?
Collagen and gelatin come from the same animal source. It is essential to choose a source that is grass-fed, pasture-raised, hormone-free, and antibiotic-free, like Further Food Premium Gelatin. Gelatin and collagen are similar in that they have the same protein and amino acid profiles. So, supplementing with gelatin or collagen provides the same health benefits, such as helping to improve gut health, strengthening bones and joints, and giving you softer, glowing skin.
The main difference between collagen and gelatin is how they are used. Collagen dissolves in beverages, soups, and can be used in baking or any recipe without any added texture. Gelatin becomes “gel-like” when mixed with cold liquids and is best used to create healthy jello, gummies, and candies or as a thickener in smoothies, puddings, or soups. Both collagen and gelatin are odorless and tasteless and will not change the flavor of your foods.
How is gelatin different from bone broth?
Both bone broth and gelatin come from collagen and provide similar health benefits. However, since most of us don’t have the time to make and consume bone broth on a regular basis, supplementing with gelatin is a great way to get the benefits of bone broth and collagen. Additionally, gelatin powder is unflavored and can be used in a variety of recipes, including healthy gummies and other desserts. One can’t use bone broth to make desserts! =)
What does it taste like?
Further Food Premium Gelatin is tasteless and odorless, so it can be added to any drink or food without changing the taste.
What are the ingredients and how do I store it?
Further Food Premium Gelatin is made with 100% pure beef gelatin. It’s a protein powder that is free from sugar, preservatives, artificial sweeteners or any added ingredients! Additionally, each serving of our gelatin provides 10 grams of collagen. Further Food Premium Gelatin should be stored at room temperature, in a cool, dry environment.
Can children eat gelatin?
Yes. Our Gelatin is tasteless and odorless, which makes it great for picky eaters. And gelatin is sugar free, so you can use it to make healthy sugar free gummies and jello that your kids will love.
Is gelatin gluten free?
Yes. Further Food Premium Gelatin is gluten free. However, note that this product is made in a facility that also processes gluten as well as milk, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, soy and egg.
What is the shelf life of Further Food Premium Gelatin Powder?
Further Food Premium Gelatin Powder has a shelf life of 2 years. Store in a cool, dry place.
BEST gelatin I've ever used!
I'm obsessed with this stuff! Other gelatin smells like farm animal and just generally grosses me out a bit, but this stuff is 100% odorless and flavorless! It'll thicken whether you use hot liquids or room temp. I use it to make fudge, glazes, yogurt, pudding, and so much more. Amazing!
I Know This is a Wonderful Product
I hate to admit this as life has been very stressful since I got this item. I’m afraid I haven’t used it. I promise to go on your site and give a real referral. It came promptly, was well packed and I know is healthy to use. Sorry I can’t go beyond that. I will try to use it soon.
Everything was great! I always love your products and definitely plan on ordering more!
Perfect for baking!
I'm so happy Further Food released this product! I ordered it right when it was released and have used it to make jello cups that I can just take on the go every day. I love how it is tasteless and doesn't interfere with the other flavors I add. With the holidays coming up, I have been playing around with using it in my holiday candies, baked goods and soup. It's been amazing and such a great way to add protein! I'm excited to try all of the recipes Further Food posted!
Tasteless, So easy to use!
I always love trying new products and the gelatin did not disappoint! I love that it has no sugar, no fat and minimal ingredients! Like all other Further Foods products I have used, the gelatin incorporated really easily into my daily routine! I have made Jello a few times and I followed one of the Further Food gummy recipes and those were delicious as well! I am also a really big soup eater so I tried adding a scoop of the gelatin into my soup and it was tasteless and just added protein and helped thicken my soup!
